AEHDA Organizational Profile


Establishment:   Founded in July 2003, AEHDA transitioned into an officially registered non-governmental organization (NGO) in December 2020 (Registration Number: 5085). It operates as a non-profit, non-political, non-sectarian, and women-led humanitarian organization.

Our approach emphasizes professionalism, gender sensitivity, and the empowerment of Afghan communities, especially women, through the following strategic principles:

AEHDA-Org Objectives:

To contribute towards its strategic goal, AEHDA pursues following specific objectives:

 

  1. Educational Empowerment

    1. Improve access to quality education for Afghan women, children, and underserved communities through policy advocacy, infrastructure development, educator training, and culturally relevant curricula.

    2. Promote literacy and skills development programs for lifelong learning, focusing on marginalized groups.

  2. Healthcare and Nutrition

    1. Expand healthcare services emphasizing maternal, neonatal, and child health (MNCH) and communicable disease control (CDC) to improve outcomes in diverse communities.

    2. Implement community-based nutrition programs addressing malnutrition through sustainable practices and nutrition education.

  3. Food Security for Targeted Groups

    1. Ensure need-based food distribution to vulnerable groups in regions affected by food insecurity.

    2. Partner with local organizations for the efficient distribution of culturally appropriate food supplies.

  4. Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS)

    1. Develop and expand MHPSS programs focusing on Afghan women, children, and conflict-affected individuals.

    2. Train local mental health practitioners to deliver culturally sensitive, trauma-informed MHPSS services.

  5. Sustainable Development

    1. Integrate One Health principles addressing health risks between people, animals, and the environment.

    2. Launch awareness campaigns promoting sustainable agricultural and environmental practices.

  6. Research and Advocacy

This statute was established in light of the eleventh and fourteenth articles of the Law of Non-Governmental Organizations in order to integrate the activities and identify the competencies and responsibilities of the leadership body, as well as to create order and discipline and to establish a transparent accountability system in the institution.

این اساسنامه در روشنی ماده یازدهم و چهاردهم قانون موسسات غیر دولتی بمنظور انسجام فعالیت ها و تشخیص صلاحیت ها و مسؤلیت های ارگان رهبری و همچنان ایجاد نظم ودسپلین و برقراری  سیستم حسابدهی شفافیت در موسسه وضع گردیده

AEHDA Constitution Overview

Preamble:
The AEHDA Constitution establishes the foundational principles, governance structure, and operational guidelines for the Afghanistan Educational and Health Development Aids Organization (AEHDA). It reflects AEHDA’s commitment to empowering Afghan communities—especially women, youth, children, and vulnerable groups—by providing accessible, quality, and sustainable education, healthcare, mental health and psychosocial support, livelihood opportunities, and essential services. Through this mission, AEHDA aims to foster community resilience, social cohesion, and economic growth, contributing to a prosperous and self-reliant Afghanistan.

General Provisions:
AEHDA is a non-profit, non-political, and non-governmental organization registered with the Ministry of Economy (MoEc) in Afghanistan. The organization abides by national and international humanitarian laws and upholds transparency, inclusivity, and integrity in all operations.

Objectives:

  1. Provide equitable access to quality education, healthcare, MHPSS, and essential services.
  2. Support public health, nutrition, and food security through sustainable initiatives.
  3. Advocate for the rights and empowerment of Afghan women and marginalized groups.

Governance Structure:

  1. General Assembly (GA): The highest decision-making body responsible for overseeing AEHDA’s strategic direction, approving budgets, and ensuring mission alignment.
  2. Board of Directors (BoDs): Appointed by the GA, the BoDs offer advisory and supervisory support, ensuring adherence to policies and ethical standards.
  3. Executive Board (EB): Responsible for daily operations, program implementation, and resource management, reporting to the BoDs and GA.

Leadership Bodies and Roles:

  • Chairperson: Presides over the GA, ensuring effective governance and compliance.
  • Secretary: Manages documentation, records minutes, and maintains official records.
  • Treasurer: Oversees financial activities, budgeting, and audit coordination.

Membership and Employment Policies:
Membership is open to individuals aligned with AEHDA’s mission and values. Employment policies emphasize equal opportunity, capacity-building, and staff welfare.

Financial Management and Accountability:
AEHDA’s financial affairs are managed under strict transparency, with oversight by an Audit Committee. Budget approval, regular audits, and donor reporting are integral to maintaining trust and accountability.

Code of Conduct and Ethical Guidelines:
The constitution mandates that all members and employees adhere to AEHDA’s Code of Conduct, promoting respect, non-discrimination, and commitment to humanitarian principles.

Amendments and Policy Review:
The constitution is reviewed biennially to ensure it remains relevant and responsive to organizational needs and contextual changes. Amendments are approved by a two-thirds majority in the GA.
